The year was 2020 and Tokyo was hosting the Olympic games. Being the number one sports brand in the country - and trying to reinforce its presence globally - Mizuno wanted to mark the occasion with a brand campaign that would connect consumers to the brand worldwide, beyond their Japanese success. We created a story that resonates with every sportsmen and women out there, featuring only amateur athletes and redefining the meaning of being ‘the best’.

For Mizuno, sports is not about beating records, fame or being the best there ever was. It’s about a simple ingredient, that we all have as sportsmen and women: the determination and persistence to never give up on yourself and keep at it.
The hero video tells the story of three amateur athletes and challenges the meaning of ‘being the best’ in sports.
We gave our audience a proper glimpse of each individual’s journey with snippets of our protagonists’ stories.
Our campaign kickstarted the “For the moment” movement, featuring more of our Mizuno athletes in their journey to success - https://bit.ly/3uVKclk. With it, we inspired thousands of people around the world to choose hard work and persistence over everything else.
